The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season presents a diverse group of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how much of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
